One of the characteristics that have marked the commercial activity of our town has been the season times. The kindness of our climate and our landscapes has caused an affluence of tourists to our population. The tourism has been one of the factors that has supported our commerce until today.

Nevertheless the Council of Economic Promotion and Employment, has been marked like high-priority objective, to end this season time, giving to know how excellence this activity is, to our neighbors and those of the nearest towns. We want that the commercial activity acquires more importance than it has until now , and make Guardamar to have a greater economic presence in the Region .

In order to obtain this objective, the council is delivering an important effort in developping campaigns that approach our commerce to neighbours, but also, to everywhere outside. Programs of support to promote the creation of companies and their consolidation, and it is going to create a new industrial ground for the location of these companies .

In addition we relay on the Agency of Local Development, office that contributes as its name indicates to the economic development of our locality. We cannot either forget to us the agreements of collaboration with other organizations, as the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Navigation of Alicante, which is developing enterprise services in our locality .

This Council is also worried about the employment of our neighbors.We take for granted that this support to the commerce and industry is going to increase jobs in town, although we think that it is not sufficient, for that reason we want the improvement of the labour preparation of our neighbors .

We can emphasize within this section the existing collaboration with the Partnership of Economic Promotion in the Vega Baja area, ( Convega ), for the insertion of the unemployed ones in the labour market.
