It is composed by
the Lady Mayor and 16 Town Councillors that are represented
by 3 political parties which are: PSOE
( Spanish Social Working Party ),UPG ( Guardmar Union
Party ) and PP ( Popular
Party ).All of them constitute the local government. |

political party councillors with majority of votes chosen
by Guardamar population for the period 2003-2007 is
the PSOE and they form the team government.At the head
of it is the Lady Mayor Mrs.

The City Council
Assembly Hall is where the local corporation meets to
argue and vote all the subjects related to Guardamar
and its citizens.
In all the sessions, the Lady Mayor points the day subject
which is exposed 2 days before the plenary meeting in
the bulletin board.. |

There are three types
of sessions : ordinary, extra-ordinary or urgent extra-ordinary
-
Ordinary
Sessions: They are called by the Lady Mayor.The
plenary meeting celebrates an ordinary session the
last but one Friday of each month at 10.00 am for
the first call.Two days later is the second call
at 10.00 am.The Lady Mayor under her own decision,
or for petition of the spokepeople,can bring forward
or postpone the dates and the time of the calls,even
in the hypothetical case that the new fixed day
would not be in the appropriate month.She can also
to adjourn them.

Extra-ordinary
Sessions: They are called by the Lady Mayor
under her own decision or for petition of at least
a quarter of the councillors.

Urgent
Extra- ordinary: They are called by the
Lady Mayor but they must be ratified by the plenary
meeting..
One week after the plenary
meeting and for all the decisions to be known by the
citizens, a summary of the Agreements and Resolutions
to be passed will be published in the bulletin board
in Guardamar.
