400 Years since the arrival of our Lady of the Rosary to Guardamar

According to an old legend, in 1610 a Genoese galleon got into severe difficulties during a storm near the coast of Guardamar. Its Figurehead represented our Lady of the Rosary. The sailors on board the ship prayed to our lady that she may protect the ship and promised to donate the Figurehead to the town. Since then the "Virgen del Rosario" has become the Patron Saint of Guardamar. In 2010 the fourth centenary of this legend was celebrated with a number of activities and events.

New section for foreign residents

As you may have noticed, we have been working on a new web page since beginning of July. The contents of the web won't change a lot because most of it has gone through a tedious process of selection and most articles have been revised various times by native speakers. However, we have decided to update the system and to change the site navigation in order to make it easier for the user to find what he/she is looking for. However, keep in mind that the site is constantly growing and the more information there is, the more difficult it is to organize it in a way that keeps finding things an easy task.

Furthermore, we have decided to start a section exclusively for foreign residents. As their need of information and their priority may slightly differ from spanish speaking residents, this may be a way of getting important things over to you. However, we are always keen on knowing your opinion. Please keep in mind that there is a lot of work involved behind the scene, so don't expect everything to be ready within a couple of days. It will take some time.
