Guardamar's port and marina - Marina de las Dunas

The Port "Marina de las Dunas" is situated on the right hand side of the mouth of the River Segura. It currently has 494 moorings available between 7 and 15 metres in length – although it is anticipated that this will be increased to some 630.

It is possible to buy (for a stated period of time) the use of a mooring - and these can also be rented on a short term basis. The port also has a dry-dock facility for checks and repairs – as well as a snack bar and restaurant.

The Headquarters of the town’s Nautical /Yacht Club are also situated there – and they have details of all the water sports activities available and can give information on permits, equipment etc.

Leisure and Recreation

Guardamar has an excellent range of leisure and recreation facilities – all of which provide an interesting and varied programme of activities for young and old, throughout the year. Events such as exhibitions, workshops, competitions, conferences annual sporting events – together with a diverse programme of cultural activities and festivities make the town a vibrant and active community.

Most events are free and more information on ‘what’s on locally’ can be obtained from the town’s Tourist Information Office or directly from the venues, themselves. The local ‘Guía de Guardamar’, ‘Amar Guardamar and free foreign newspapers also carry a lot of information on local events, services, restaurants and bars.

There is also a Fishing Club who organises fishing competitions. You can also enjoy cycling and walking through Guardamar’s beautiful natural scenery. Again, the Tourist Information Office has more information on the above and can give details of their local history tour.
