It was designed
by the Engineer Larramendi,who made the new urban plan
for Guardamar after the earthquakes in 1829.
It is a neo-classic building composed of three naves,which
is unfinished according to the original Project.We shall
highlight the tall tower over the main entrance and
a polygonal apse over the non built transept.
Its construction started in 1845,it is consecrated to
the cult in 1892,but it is not finished until 1910.In
the 60s the temple was reformed,as for example the enlargement
of the bell tower and the decorating of the outside
part,which hides the stone material.
There are kept some objects that were rescued from the
old Parish,as some canvas,pottery pieces ( Saint James
Pilgrim and Our Mother of the Rosary.There are also
some high quality sculpture pieces dated about the middle
of the 20th century.
